Humes "Tripp" Franklin, III routinely handles litigation matters on a variety of issues, including personal injury, contract dispute, business litigation, and family law, and appears regularly in the courts of the following cities and counties in Virginia: Waynesboro, Staunton, Augusta, Rockingham/Harrisonburg, Albemarle, Charlottesville, Rockbridge/Lexington, Shenandoah, Frederick, Warren, Winchester, Shenandoah, Page, Culpeper, Spotsylvania, and Henrico, as well as Hardy and Pendleton County, West Virginia and the United States Federal Courts. In addition Tripp handles appeals before the Virginia Supreme Court and United States Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Representative Experience

  • Filing suit on behalf of an individual seriously injured in an automobile accident and successfully obtaining a very large award on her behalf.
  • Obtaining a defense verdict in a jury trial on behalf of an individual sued for damages as a result of a vehicle collision.
  • Successfully winning a jury verdict awarding clients title by adverse possession to approximately 64 acres of mountainous land in Pendleton County, West Virginia.
  • Successfully prosecuting a claim for specific performance of a real estate contract on behalf of a developer against a building contractor.
  • Successfully defending a veterinarian sued for malpractice.
