Harrisonburg Law Firm

criminal law attorney

Please Join Us In Welcoming Andrew Fox To The WAW Harrisonburg Law Firm.

We are pleased to announce the hiring of Andrew Fox to our Harrisonburg law firm. Andrew will be starting at WAW in September and brings with him a strong academic background that will be an asset to our team. As a recent graduate of Washington & Lee University School of Law, he is excited to work at such a large firm that handles a diversity of cases. We caught up with him while he was studying for the bar to learn a little bit about his education, experience and hobbies.

What got you interested in studying law?

I love the mental work and problem-solving necessary to tackle clients’ legal challenges. I find it incredibly satisfying to help people find resolutions to their problems so they can move forward in life and work.

Do you have a practice area you’re most passionate about?

During my time at Washington & Lee University School of Law, I took several classes on intellectual property law and appellate law and found that work extremely fulfilling. Civil litigation is where I hope to focus much of my energy, but I’m excited to work at Wharton Aldhizer & Weaver because they handle such a diversity of cases and practice areas. Their attorneys can do everything from business law to family and criminal defense law. I hope to get the chance to help on different cases and see what fits me best.

Tell me a little bit about your professional experience at law firms and beyond.

Over the past year, I’ve been fortunate to hold a Judicial Externship with the Honorable Judge John T. Cook of the 24th Circuit Court of Virginia. I also worked as a Research Associate for McMenamin Law Offices in Richmond, and as an intern at Lemon Law Aid in California and LaSalle Asset Management in Chicago. After attending Washington & Lee University for my undergraduate degree, I worked for two years as a professional ski instructor in Park Valley, Utah.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I love to get outside to hike, mountain bike and ski. During law school, I formed a band with several other students to play rock and Americana.
