The Virginia Military Institute Foundation has announced the establishment of the Wharton, Aldhizer & Weaver Scholarship Fund. Funded through the generous efforts and outstanding professional service Wharton, Aldhizer & Weaver has rendered in support of VMI, this endowed fund will generate important scholarship support to cadets hailing from the communities of the Shenandoah Valley served by the law firm.
Brian Crockett, the Chief Executive Officer of the VMI Foundation, stated in announcing this scholarship:
"The support and professional service Wharton, Aldhizer & Weaver has rendered to the Foundation have been exemplary and its generosity will make a real difference in making the unique VMI experience more affordable for the many fine cadets VMI attracts from the central Shenandoah Valley."
The purpose of the Wharton, Aldhizer & Weaver Scholarship is to provide financial support principally for VMI cadets from the counties of Rockingham and Augusta and the Cities of Harrisonburg, Staunton, and Waynesboro. The initial funding will generate income for cadet financial assistance and be invested and administered by the VMI Foundation.
