Harrisonburg, VA 22801
Donald E. Showalter has been a steadfast champion of the ethical and just treatment of the clients he represents since he joined Wharton Aldhizer & Weaver PLC in 1965. With a concentration in commercial/corporate and probate law, Don has served as counsel to numerous local corporations, with a particular interest in the law of agricultural cooperatives.
Don had the unique opportunity to file an amicus curiae (“friend of the court”) brief on behalf of the Mennonite Church in Wisconsin v. Yoder, 406 U.S. 205 (1972). His involvement in this landmark U.S. Supreme Court case upholding the First Amendment religious freedom of the Amish reflects his deep commitment to justice and makes him a strong legal advocate in every case he handles.
